Leaving a bequest in your Will allows you to create a legacy that positively impacts health and wellbeing in the community. Your gift to Can Too Foundation supports transformative cancer research and community health initiatives in Australia.
Types of Bequests
- Residual Bequest: Designates Can Too Foundation to receive the remainder of your estate after specific gifts have been distributed.
- Percentage Bequest: Allocates a percentage of your estate to Can Too Foundation, accomodating changes in the value of your estate over time.
- Pecuniary Bequest: Specifies a fixed dollar amount for Can Too Foundation, which may not adjust for inflation or changes in circumstances.
- Specific Bequest: Gifts specific assets such as real estate, shares, art, or other valuable items to Can Too Foundation.
How to leave a bequest in your Will
Your Will is an important document that allows you to provide for loved ones and support causes close to your heart. To ensure your bequest is correctly recorded and aligns with your wishes, we recommend consulting a solicitor.
If you already have a Will in place and wish to make provisions for CanToo, a simple amendment or codicil can also be arranged through your solicitor.
Correct wording to include a bequest to Can Too Foundation in your Will
After the payment of all my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and all duties, taxes and charges payable on my Estate at my death, I (your name) give, free of all duties, to the CanToo Foundation (ABN: 53169310696) currently of 100 William Street, Woolloomooloo in the State of New South Wales:
The residue of my estate, or
______ % of my estate, or
The sum of $______ , or
My property known as ________________ (e.g. real estate, art, shares, etc)
to be applied for general purposes by the Can Too Foundation as determined by its directors. I declare that the receipt of an authorised officer of the Can Too Foundation will be a sufficient discharge to my executor(s) or trustee.
