Alright, everyone, I need your help raising some funds for cancer research!
As some of you may know, I am (not) a natural-born swimmer. No, seriously, just a month ago, I couldn’t even make it 50 m freestyle without stopping to rethink my life choices.
For some inexplicable reason (my wife chalks it up to a mid-life crisis...), I’ve set a goal to do a full Ironman by May 2026, which includes the daunting task of swimming 4km in open water...
So, I started training to actually learn how to swim properly. That’s when I stumbled upon CanToo. Turns out, they take average people like me, throw us into terrifying athletic challenges, and somehow make it all about raising money for cancer research. Genius.
So, here we go, I’ve officially signed up for the Long South Maroubra Ocean Swim in just 10 weeks!
Cancer affects all of us. Whether it’s a parent, sibling, friend, or even yourself, almost every family has faced this battle. If I can contribute even a little towards research, treatment, and prevention, while simultaneously trying not to drown, then it’s 100% worth it.
