Palm Beach to Whale Beach - I did it!

Palm Beach to Whale Beach swim on Australia Day - 2.6kms - I did it! So pleased.

What a well organised event with fabulous support from the Cantoo Team. Was a little swelly around the Whale Beach headland, but otherwise went well. So good having Andrew swim it 'with' me (was never going to keep up with him!) - we miss you Sal xx

My Ocean Swimming challenge!

As a pool and between-the-flags swimmer, and with a love for the beach and swimming, I've been thinking about doing ocean swimming for a couple of years now, but felt a little nervous about going beyond the breaking surf, so decided to take up this challenge with CanToo's support.

I'm swimming to raise money for cancer research in memory of my beautiful sister Sally who passed away in July 2024, 11 months after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer - she was only 55.

She loved the beach, and during her illness often said she wanted for a beach swim, but medical issues prevented her getting into the water, and she never got that last swim.

So I'm swimming for her too.

I'm very excited, a little nervous, and quite pumped - I'll be actually aiming for a 2km (not 1km!) ocean swim .... bring it on!

I'm supporting cancer research and prevention with Can Too Foundation.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that's a statistic that needs to change.

So I asked myself, "what can I do to help?" That's where the Can Too Foundation came in! Can Too provides professionally coached training programs for participants of any fitness level to run, swim and cycle their way to a healthier lifestyle and a cancer-free world.

In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer. Since 2005, Can Too Foundation has trained over 22,000 participants and raised over $30,000,000 to invest in over 150 cancer research grants.
