Sydney Marathon 2024

18 days to go!

The long runs are all done now and we are on the home stretch of training !  
The weather is  already warming up so  really hoping temperatures won't be too high on Sep 15th....

4 weeks to go!!

Only 1 long run left  before the big day! 

As always running with my CanToo running buddies makes every run so much better and together we get to the end  and coffee! It's been a tough challenge but I know that on the day all the effort will have been worth it, not only completing the Sydney Marathon but raising money for such a vital cause. 

Week 9

Can't believe we have done 9 weeks of training already!
Saturday morning runs start at 5.50am from Kirribilli so the early 4.30 am alarms  are not fun!
But worth it this morning with a stunning sunrise ... WOW! it was incredible and definitely something worth getting up early for!

Still running!


Having had such a fantastic experience  last year in the CanToo swimming programme, raising  money for Cancer Research, I am really excited to be doing the Sydney Marathon with CanToo this year.

 It's   definitely  a challenge  to keep up the training  for another marathon  after London in April, but it's great being part of such a lovely group of fellow runners to train with.

I know all the early mornings will be more than worth it, a dream come true  to be able to run over the Sydney Harbour Bridge in September  with thousands of others and help raise  funds for this vital, life saving work, of which I have benefitted and am so very, very  grateful for.

I'm supporting cancer research and prevention with Can Too Foundation. 

1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that's a statistic that needs to change. 

So I asked myself, "what can I do to help?" That's where the Can Too Foundation came in! Can Too provides professionally coached training programs for participants of any fitness level to run, swim and cycle their way to a healthier lifestyle and a cancer-free world. 

In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer. Since 2005, Can Too Foundation has trained over 18,000 participants and raised over $25,000,000 to invest in over 200 one-year cancer research grants.
