One more Ocean Swim to go, Yaay!!! North Bondi 2km

2k swims- Facing my fear of the the Deep Blue sea & Raising funds for Cancer Research!!!

I'm supporting Cancer Research and Prevention with Can Too Foundation. 

Fourteen Weeks Ago, I signed up to the 1km Can-Too Ocean Swim Program. Thinking i couldn't swim the 2k swim. I was wrong. I wanted to Face my Fear of the Deep Ocean and Challenge myself Both Mentally & Physically. Prior to the program, I swam laps at the pool and Rock pools, but I was always afraid to go Deep in the ocean. I noticed the shark island swim event was on last year and wanted to swim it, but wasn't confident enough in the ocean to swim long distances. I then found the Can-Too program. Throughout the Program, we swam at the pool during the week and swam in the ocean on the weekend, gradually going out deeper and further in a group with water safety legends.

Being involved in this program has been the best decision I've made. Not only have I met great People that are very supportive, I've also learnt vital skills of the ocean, faced my fear. I feel more confident, stronger & fitter and i have found a new love for ocean swimming.

I have now Completed Two of my GOAL Swims:

2.5km Harbour Splash Rose Bay

2.4km Shark Island South Cronulla

This Sunday being my Last GOAL swim at:

North Bondi Classic for the 2km swim

1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that's a statistic that needs to change. 

In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer. Since 2005, Can Too Foundation has trained over 18,000 participants and raised over $25,000,000 to invest in over 200 one-year cancer research grants.
