Riding the Waves - my surf ski padding challenge
Hey everyone!
Iβm excited to share my latest adventure: Iβm learning how to Surf Ski Paddle! Iβve taken on this challenge not just for personal growth but also to raise money for early career cancer researchβa cause that touches all of us.
The Early Mornings
Picture this: itβs 5:30 AM, and Iβm down at Middle Harbour while itβs still dark. Armed with my headtorch, I set up my ski, my heart racing with a mix of excitement and nerves. I canβt help but feel those butterflies fluttering aroundβuntil the pure terror kicks in as I stare at the horizon, hoping I wonβt fall in.
Spoiler alert: I always fall in! But instead of feeling defeated, Iβve reframed my mindset. Rather than saying, βI fell in,β I proudly tell myself, βI practiced my remount again!β Each tumble into the water is just another step in my learning journey, and I wouldnβt trade it for anything.
Why This Matters
Learning something new has its challenges, but itβs also incredibly rewarding. And the best part? Iβm doing this while raising funds for early career cancer research. Cancer impacts so many lives, and through this program, I hope to contribute to new ways of preventing, treating, and hopefully curing this disease.
My fundraising target is $895, and I would love (and need) your support to get there. Every dollar helps fund vital research that can lead to breakthroughs in cancer treatment.
Join Me!
If youβre looking for a good laugh, come down to Middle Harbour any Wednesday or Friday morning over the next few weeks. I guarantee Iβll spectacularly fall into the waterβitβs practically a given!
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Together, we can make waves for a great cause!
I'm supporting cancer research and prevention with Can Too Foundation.
1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that's a statistic that needs to change.
So I asked myself, "what can I do to help?" That's where the Can Too Foundation came in! Can Too provides professionally coached training programs for participants of any fitness level to run, swim and cycle their way to a healthier lifestyle and a cancer-free world.
In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer. Since 2005, Can Too Foundation has trained over 22,000 participants and raised over $30,000,000 to invest in over 150 cancer research grants.
It would be fantastic if you could sponsor me, or even better join me in a program!
Thank you for your support!
