I'm swimming to support cancer research and prevention.
1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That's a statistic that needs to change.
So this Aussie summer I’m facing my fears and taking on an ocean swim to raise vital funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer.
Growing up in Iowa, the largest body of water near me was LAKE Michigan (8hrs drive away)… So needless to say ocean swimming is not my strong point. I have no idea how to spot a rip.
Plus, the ocean is where sharks live and that’s terrifying.
